To first explore the idea of opposites, I decided to take photos and scans of two things: a solid wood and cast-iron floor loom and a flowing and soft weaving created with said loom. These opposites are necessary for the creation of one object together, which is what I was exploring in this poster.
REVISED ITERATION |
To combine these photos and ideas into a poster, I used different layer effects over a black and white image to further their separation.
FINAL ITERATION |
I found that I wanted the two elements to interact more, so I wove the weaving in and out of the different parts of the loom. I also explored warping the title of the poster alongside the weaving, as a fun extra textural element.
